I found that while I prefer the overall tone of NXE, NGE was not nearly as horrendous as I had expected it to be. <I also suspect I was semi-calloused as to the mental damage NGE can inflict, having recently been shown a semi-unknown movie called Donnie Darko that makes the ending bits of NGE seem light and fluffy... well, almost>I'll probably have to re-watch a good chunk to fully parse it all though.
