In their adult lives, Azula and Laura are both seekers after something; the difference that separates their trajectories is what they're seeking. Azula is looking for a specific place, or at least evidence that it exists or once existed; this has tended to mean that, although she hasn't varied her method much, she's found herself pursuing leads far and wide, and in the process discovering any number of lost or mythic things that (sometimes frustratingly) are not the one she's actually trying to find.

Laura, on the other hand, seeks experiences, and so changes up her game regularly - some would argue almost pathologically - but has not found her way into the really obscure corners of the galaxy nearly as often in the process. Most of her varied and colorful careers have happened in places that were fairly well-known. She ran a bake shop in Paris (which is not exactly terra incognita), for instance, and was a motorcycle cop on Nova Italia.

As such, Laura's notebook would probably be the more fun read and make the more popular travel film, but Azula's has a definite edge in terms of the density of its weirdness. Her movie would have to be by Guillermo del Toro. :)
