Technically, that isn't a C96 proper, it's a Model 712 Schnellfeuer machine pistol; but either way, I don't think her sidearm's ever been described "on camera" in OWaW, so you'd have had no way of knowing other than to guess based on most comic artists depicting Enemy Ace with one.
