"Yet Another Blue Moon Thread"

In the interests of keeping thread sizes down...

aside from the main comments everyone has voiced <ie: WOW LIZA> I have a few stand out moments:

-Mia owns a stuffed BEHOLDER? <for those unfamiliar with the D&D game and metaverse, the beholder is a rathr nasty little beasty with a great many magical powers, and it looks pretty much exactly like the description of Mia's stuffed toy>

-Garibaldi chiming in on 'spear and magic HELmet'? Man, I really wish I had seen more early B5, because he was way too angsty later in the series to even make that scene possible.

-The battleship Pennsylvania? All this time to get the name of Derek's command, and I totally fail to parse the significance.

-={(Astynax)}=-
"BTW, will someone PLEASE smack Vigdis? For some reason, she irritates me more than any Broadbank ever did<probably because rather than being evil, she's just being dumb and nosey, which I have less tolerance for>"

The WDF Pennsylvania is Truss' old command (i.e., the companion vessel to Derek's old command). I don't know what significance it has beyond that, though.

Chiming in on the whole "not getting refs" thing; what's the source of the 'Thor in a football jersey' imagery? I've seen it in a couple of stories where they tried to make it clear that this is NOT the Marvel Thor (he of the Incredibly Silly Costume and Even Sillier Speech Patterns), but I've never recognized any source for it...

And I've always felt that, as much as I like football, it is a sport which could only survive First Contact through the heavy intervention of a very powerful god...

Whatever it's called, the realization of it's description just hit me. I just hope that she doesn't have a spell to bring it to life.

I'd rather face a horde of Bullete than a single Beholder...

8. "Blue Moon Serenade - The Highlights"
In response to message #0

   Greetings!

Well, Gryphon and the crew certainly know how to keep the readership interested.

I wonder what new twists and turns are ahead for the Duelists' in Another Christmas Rose ?

The Highlights

Gorgon Ghidra - I guess 'cute' is in the eye of the beholder.

The Castle - So it used to be a Jedi temple. Neat. :)

Clarissa Broadbank at DSM - ... at least the Ragnarok group get a little break.

Belldandy Wishbringer - " ... half the boys and a couple of girls ..." :)
Talking to the sound board - Not too suprising, she talked to an airplane in the manga. :)

Celestial Pizza and Zach Stevens - Wow... 3 different universes. Zach really gets around. :)

Liza Shustal - I am so happy that she makes it back. I had asked a while ago what it would take for her to change her ways and I can see that it was a lot.

I think one the reasons I like her so much now is she's a person redeemed from a person we all loved to hate. I'm sure all of us have a person we thought we were better off never knowing but they stayed around anyways and we were glad when they finally left our lives. While they might have been actually a good person, we never know this because of the way we perceive them. (And most probably are pricks no matter what, but I'm making an example here.)

What Liza represents to me is a second chance to know a person in a different light. It's a pity Real Life doesn't usually work this way - the Earth would be a better place if it were more common.

*sigh*

Great work, Gryph. I look forward to Another Christmas Rose.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

Get in on this one, since it's the smallest thread.

I can't believe you actually managed to make me actually worry about Liza. I'm not a very forgiving soul. Excellent.

The Halloween party was GREAT. Moltar -shattered- me, explosively. I was wishing I could get an oxygen tank out of subspace when I got to Spear and Magic HELmet!

Corwin said "You know why." That relationship is nice to read, but painful to watch. I've been there. It's not the same boat, but it's only a sea-lane over. I have to hope it works out for him. I worry for him more than Utena. Male solidarity, that, most likely, but, assuming Anthy comes back he is the one with the most to lose.

I also winced at Corwin's and Vee's exchange. It seems to happen quite often, that people take people's expressions of their feelings as elaborate jokes and teases. It also seems that people too often take a rejection on a certain level as a blanket rejection. They both handled that poorly.

I have come to the conclusion that I wouldn't enjoy Azalynn's company on any level higher than a background presence. She's too open, too casual about physical contact. She's very likable and I do like her, but I'd be a nervous wreck around her.

I so want to live in a place with miles of fresh roads and a near-deserted superhighway. Of course, I want a Ford GT-40, too... (a UF tech-level GT-40! WOO!)

Zach's back. Hey. He's a guitarist right? If Miki really doesn't work out...

It's difficult to work on, too, but very rewarding on some levels, or I wouldn't keep at it with such energy.

The next stage is already complete, but I have to get some other happenings out of the way before I can let you see it.

>I also winced at Corwin's and Vee's exchange. It seems to happen quite

I think Corwin deserves some slack; after all, he's been getting this kind of thing from all sides since he got old enough to inspire it (which, admittedly, hasn't been all that long, but still), and there was no real way for him to know that Vee wasn't just yanking his chain like all the others. She's such an enthusiastic participant in all the Valkyrie "corporate culture" activities that it was easy to see her attraction to him as just another Vee-wants-to-be-one-of-the-girls things.

OTOH, Vee is an extremist - there's no middle ground in her emotional landscape yet. "If you don't hate me, then why don't you love me?" is a question to which she still expects an answer, and Corwin can't give her one.

>I have come to the conclusion that I wouldn't enjoy Azalynn's company

>casual about physical contact. She's very likable and I do like her,

As Utena told Wakaba at one point, "You'll get used to her. (Or you'll have a psychotic episode.)" :)

Seriously, she does make an effort to hold things back around people who can't seem to get their heads around the way she works. She didn't do anything in particular to Mac in that scene aboard the No Bull, for instance. She doesn't like making people uncomfortable, even if the reasons why they're uncomfortable seem silly to her.

>Zach's back. Hey. He's a guitarist right? If Miki really doesn't work
>out...

He is, yes, though he tends more toward surf-band lead-type stuff. (One wonders what happened to the rest of the Worcester Surphony Orchestra, and whether there will be a Port Jeradar Surphony Orchestra. :)
