Very powerful, very well written. It's nice to see that Asuka's finally getting what she's earned, and that life is good for her. I have to wonder how much of the stars they saw was the effect of an assortment of Celestials looking down on them both as protectors and just embracing all the Good that came from little Evangline's birth.Speaking of Evangeline, while the in-story source of the name is fairly obvious, it's a rather interesting name eymologically. According to dictionary.com, it was created by H.W. Longfellow for his poem, and doesn't have any specific meaning behind it. But I can't help thinking that there must be more to it...
Was this intended to be part of some bigger adventure, or just a short piece that developed in and of itself? Either way, it stands on its own rather nicely, and it's good to see the NXE crowd getting to come out of the Green Room on occasion :)
