And it is possible to open and close a real swing-out revolver that way, just... not a great idea. Modern revolvers are usually built well enough that they won't be ruined immediately, but handling them like that habitually will eventually lead to things bending and stretching such that they don't line up properly any more.

Based on the relatively few bits of the storyline the guys weren't talking over in that stream, it appears that the game's setting is post-apocalyptic, so presumably people have other things on their minds. :)
