Absolutely agree. UF (and, originally, NXE, which was my gateway drug) has gotten me through panic attacks, breakups, broken hearts, bereavement and (most importantly) long night shifts in call centres.
Even when interpreting absolute dystopian future scenarios, like anything to do with the Psi Corps or Earthgov, it retains an amazing sense of optimism, and wholeheartedly endorses the idea that everyone deserves redemption. Optimistic sci-fi is exactly what we need right now. I'm gonna keep reading, so please keep writing.
